ADAM AUERBACH is an illustrator and graphic designer from Brooklyn, New York. He was inspired to create Edda while listening to Richard Wagner's "Ring Cycle," a series of operas based on Norse mythology. Adam has always loved the stories of the rugged Norse gods and monsters. Adam's illustrations have appeared on book covers and in numerous print publications, including The New York Times and School Library Journal. Edda is his first children's book.

Will not work as an introduction to the Old Norse culture for your child (among other things, it's based on The Ring of the Nibelung, an opera by Richard Wagner, not the original Norse myths) but is a good children's book overall and a good starting point for a conversation about Asgard, Odin, etc.

A lively and well written little story with charming illustrations - perfect for kids just beginning school. I bought it for my granddaughter.
